Our Story

In October 2018, Daniel Hoffmann, a physician assitant in the pediatric ER at OLOL, donned a homemade LSU Golden Girl costume and posed for a series of photos across LSU campus. The photos of the so-called "Golden Boy" went viral, and the Golden Guys were born.

Hoffmann was clear on what the Golden Guys' mission from the start: supporting and empowering our community’s youth.

The Golden Guys have raised over $10,000 for Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital and given thousands more to other local groups that help kids in need. Beyond just financial support, Hoffmann sees the Golden Guys as an organization that celebrates our community’s diversity and helps build self-confidence in others. The group brings together men of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds to disrupt the expected and demonstrate the power of unity and mutual respect.
